Our HorsesHorses at OATS receive regular medical care, exercise, a new purpose in life and lots of love from some very special people. Most of our horses and ponies are in their mid- to late-20s. Some have served well into their 30s.
If your horse/pony is mature, gentle, sound and well-trained, please contact us about a possible donation. Or perhaps you'd like to sponsor one of our equine partners and the important work that they do - a monetary donation of $2,500 will cover the cost of feed, farrier and veterinary care for a year. |
Their Caretakers
Dr. Turner
Here are a few photos of Dr. Turner ensuring our horses have smiles to match those of their riders!
Dr. Christina (Chiropractor)
Dr. Christina Cole is a licensed chiropractor certified in animal chiropractic
through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA). You may be thinking…“a chiropractor working on animals? Now that’s not something you hear about everyday”, and you’d be correct. Dr. Christina is a chiropractor licensed and certified to work with animals. She chose this career because of the dire need to help those who are unable to help themselves. Those practicing in her profession are limited, as only a handful actively practice in Michigan. Though previously practicing on people, she now predominantly works on animals and humans are limited to family and close friends. Dr. Cole is not a veterinarian and she does not practice veterinary medicine. She has completed rigorous training to become licensed and certified in her field, and acknowledges chiropractic as an adjunct to veterinary medicine, not a replacement. As such, she works by veterinary referral in accordance to Michigan Codes and Regulations. If you’d like more information, please feel free to contact Dr. Cole via email at [email protected] or phone (248) 602-0807. |
