Homeschool Programs
Fridays at the Farm
At the OATS homeschool Fridays at the Farm program, parents learn with their children through engaging, hands on experiences. Learners of all ages and abilities engage directly with the animals while learning about their lives, care, habitats, and more. Each week focuses on a different animal from various birds, to cows, and yes, our horses, too! The learning activities engage brains and bodies as learners experience life on a farm. Learners will also get to create a craft to remember their learning. The sessions are taught by a Mr. Doug, OATS's executive director and animal expert, and Dr. Kendra, veteran homeschool mom with a PhD in educational psychology and long-time OATS volunteer. Special guest, Keeley will help with groups and crafts, too! Fridays at the Farm registration for October 2025 is now open! https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MjM0NDQ4 Single week registration: $15; Siblings on single: $10; 4-week: $50; 5-week (ride and party included): $75 (only 2 spots available). Email: [email protected] with questions! |
Drop-off program
We heard you! Several homeschool families have inquired about a potential drop-off program at OATS. We are gauging interest with a survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScH4B4CseuxQ4vahmFsxIE_5rQdZONu1lI5r2gWDhLdXFZwdA/viewform?usp=header
Please let us know if your 8-18 year old wants to engage with our animals, learn about animal farms, and get hands on experience with the farm. Learners would earn a certificate of completion and list of learned skills. Those over 15 will also learn about machine use and repairs. We need 10 friends to join us in order to run this program. The cost will be $100/week and can be split into monthly payments.

School Field Trips

Did you know OATS does school field trips? Use this link to share your school with OATS, so we can get a trip scheduled: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1n_e_9onjb4YIzaz0CvAJM8HR6trmj-VgIasTP5dAfZA/edit
On an OATS school field trip, your class will engage directly with the OATS family of animals while you learn about their lives, care, and what a real farm looks like. Take a walk through our wooded trail while you learn about what our horses do for their riders. Or play on the goat playground while you learn about how to care for goat hooves and how they are different from horse hooves. Feed grass to our Angus cow friends while you learn about why they only have lower teeth! And learn how to groom donkeys while you learn about their important role on the farm. Your school friends will want to hear all about walking chickens, and riding Potato, the best roping horse in the land!
